Mr. Pereira, 98, of the Parlin section of Sayreville died Feb. 25 in Victoria House Care Center, Matawan. He was predeceased by his wife, Catherine Healy Pereira, and by a daughter, Theresa Iurilli. Surviving are two daughters, Catherine Howard of Minnesota and Margaret Rodriguez of Queens, N.Y.; two sons, Martin Pereira of Howell and John Pereira of Parlin; 20 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Bernadette’s Church, Parlin section of Old Bridge. Interment was in Holy Cross Burial Park Cemetery, South Brunswick.
Daniel F. Sheehan Jr.
Mr. Sheehan, 72, of the Cliffwood Beach section of Old Bridge died Feb. 29 in Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Prior to his retirement in 1994, he was employed as a millwright with E.I. DuPont, Parlin section of Sayreville, where he worked for 27 years. Surviving are his wife, Laura Lynch Sheehan; two daughters, Anne Sheehan of Los Angeles and Catherine Sheehan Blanchard of Princeton; two sons, Daniel J. Sheehan of Hoboken and David J. Sheehan of Jaffrey, N.H.; two sisters, Mary Ward of Spring Lake Heights and Rita Leongomez of Florida; and four grandchildren. A Mass is planned for 10:30 a.m. on March 4 in St. Joseph’s Church, Keyport. Interment will follow. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph’s Church.
Mrs. Sapienza, 70, of Old Bridge died March 1 at home. Surviving are her husband, Joseph Sapienza; a son, Joseph J. Sapienza Jr. of New York; a daughter, Jennifer Rinkens of Old Bridge; a brother, Thomas DiCristina of Long Island, N.Y.; and a grandson. Visitation is set for 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. on March 4 at Rezem Funeral Home, East Brunswick. Margaret A. "Peggie" Peters Christo
Mrs. Christo, 75, of South River died Feb. 26 in St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. Prior to her retirement in 1994, she was director of the South River Office on Aging. A member of the South River Mayor’s Advisory Commission on Aging and the South River Recreation Commission, she was a past board member of Stagecrafters Inc., South River. She served as a member of and committeewoman with the South River Republican Organization. She was predeceased by her husband, George. Surviving are a son, George of North Brunswick; three daughters, Carol Kowalew of Old Bridge, Peggie McHugh of Spotswood and Mary Christo of South River; a brother, William Peters of Brooklyn, N.Y.; four sisters, Cathy Bach of North Carolina, Theresa Whitelock of Spotswood, Patricia Walker of Pompton Lakes and Edna Meehan of Woodbridge; and seven grandchildren. Mr. Lapinski, 88, of East Brunswick died Feb. 27 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. He was a longtime farmer in East Brunswick and Kingwood. Prior to his retirement in 1981, he was a forklift operator with Kimberly Clark Co., Peter J. Schweitzer Division, Spotswood, where he worked for 30 years. Surviving are his wife, Clara Kulbacki Lapinski; a daughter, Barbara Tangel of East Brunswick; a brother, Michael Lapinski of the Titusville section of Hopewell; and a granddaughter. Mrs. Kalinowski, 89, of Manalapan died Feb. 28 in Pine Brook Care Center, Manalapan. She was predeceased in 1970 by her husband, Walter. Surviving are a niece, Frances Petrone of Manalapan; two great-nieces, Gina Mumolie and Karyn Binninger, both of Manalapan; and two great-nephews, Lewis Petrone of Monroe and Hank Petrone of the Forked River section of Lacey. Mr. Yaniak, 68, of Delaware, formerly of Old Bridge, died Feb. 27 in Milford Hospital, Milford, Del. His first wife, Helen, died in 1963, and his second wife, Patricia, died in 1996. Surviving are his wife, Caroline L. Martin Yaniak; three sons, Robert D. Yaniak Jr. of Lincoln, Del., Stephen Yaniak of Spotswood and Michael Yaniak of South River; a brother, Ronald Yaniak of Matawan; a sister, Joan Lacomski of Sayreville; and four grandchildren. Mrs. Genua, 84, of the Parlin section of Sayreville died Feb. 26 in St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. Prior to her retirement in 1986, she was employed by I.T.T. Continental Bakery, East Brunswick, where she worked for 18 years. Surviving are a son, Frank Genua of Sayreville; two daughters, Theresa Cox of Parlin and Marie Battaglia of Manchester; three brothers, Albert, Gabe and John Orangio; three sisters, Louise Gimmi, Olga Monteleone and Geraldine Vuono; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
