Larry Bailin, CEO of Single Throw, will present a training session on the use of Palm Pilots. This session is open to new users, residents thinking about ditching their old planners and even people who already have experience with Palm Pilots. This program is co-sponsored by the Lakewood Chamber of Commerce and Single Throw of Brick.

Attendees will learn about the business and personal benefits of palm computing and how having a PDA (personal digital assistant) helps with time management, organization, scheduling, contact management and much more.

The Palm Pilot training will be held Nov. 14 at Single Throw’s office at 445 Brick Blvd., Suite 208, Brick (near LoneStar Steakhouse). A continental breakfast will be available. Cost is $20 for chamber members.

Historical society offers overview of Lakewood

The Brick Historical Society will meet on Nov. 12 at 7:30 p.m. in the Herbertsville firehouse, Herbertsville Road. Professor Benjamin Pulcrano of Georgian Court College, Lakewood, will present a program on the history of Lakewood. The meeting is open to the public. For more information, call (732) 785-2500.

Film on New Zealand offered at library

Gift auction to benefit handicapped children

Howell Elks Lodge No. 2515 will host a gift auction on Nov. 16 at the lodge, located at 84 Ramtown-Greenville Road, Howell. Proceeds will benefit handicapped children. Doors will open at noon and a luncheon will be served. Admission will be $5.
