Provident Bank helps Habitat for Humanity

The Provident Bank recently lent a hand to Rich Westcott of the Freehold area Habitat for Humanity.

The bank donated funds to purchase the range hood, sink, faucet, cabinets, countertops and flooring for the kitchen of a Habitat home currently under construction.

Provident members who pitched in were Jack Novielli of Freehold, first vice president of sales management; Natalie Kober-Dallenbach of Howell, South Freehold branch manager; and Paul M. Pizzella of Eatontown, regional manager of Ocean and Monmouth County.

Cultural center to offer many August programs

The Monmouth Beach Cultural Center, 128 Ocean Ave., will present several programs during August, beginning with yoga classes led by Sharon Chessman Aug. 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29 from 9-10:30 a.m.

Running from Aug. 8-26 are a photography course given by Steve Hanson and a painting course with Patti Campbell.

The environmental commission will meet at the center Aug. 8 at 7:30 p.m.

The slide show "Lifesaving Stations" will be presented by Tom Hoffman Aug. 9 from 6-8 p.m.

Paintings by Ida Libby Dengrove and photographs by John Rose will be on display from Aug. 29 to Sept. 16.

County American Legion installs 2001-02 officers

The Monmouth County American Legion recently installed its officers for 2001-02.

Installed as adjutant was Joseph Gugliuzza, Ocean Township, and a member of Eatontown Post No. 325.

Edgar "Ted" Caffyn, Oceanport, also a member of Post No. 325, was installed as sergeant-at-arms.
