Sayreville youth invited to apply for state jobs

The Governor’s Office Summer Employment Program offers paid summer jobs for essential personnel in the Department of Environmental Protection, Division of Parks and Forestry. Positions are available for general maintenance workers, interpretive service personnel, lifeguards, visitor service attendants and office workers.

Some jobs are available as early as April 1 and run through Sept. 4. Since the nature of the parks service is to serve the public, the positions may require shift work and weekend employment through Labor Day. The state also makes reasonable accommodations in the work environment to enable a person with a disability to perform essential job functions and to participate with coworkers without disabilities.

Sayreville residents ages 16 and older may pick up a state summer job application in Sayreville Borough Hall, Main Street. Applications must be returned by April 1.
